2015 Goals

Can you believe it's almost 2015, how has this year gone so fast! Theres something about a new year that makes me feel so happy. Everything feels fresh again and I just get urges to throw lots of unnecessary things out and clean.

I've always loved making lists, even if it's a small to do list for the next day I write before going to bed, it always makes me feel more organised and helps my brain switch off. The same with starting a new year, I feel it helps to write a list of goals that can help guide me and keep me on track for the year even if its only small goals. So here are my 2015 goals:

Holiday to Thailand

I haven't been on a long holiday with my boyfriend since the first year we met which was almost 5 years ago now and I think we deserve a nice romantic getaway. So for our 5 year anniversary we've decided to go on holiday to Thailand for two weeks. We both want to go somewhere that's hot, beautiful landscapes, a luxury holiday we can pamper ourselves in and a location we can explore and see and experience new things. So I suggested Thailand because it looks so beautiful and i've always wanted to experience the Yi Peng festival (the lantern festival). So that's the aim, fingers crossed we manage to get somewhere booked and everything goes to plan.

Make at least 1 piece of personal artwork per month

So I thought the other day, I don't make stuff anymore. I used to draw, paint, digitally paint etc but I just don't do it anymore. Mainly because I commute to work everyday which takes anywhere between 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours on a normal day, so I leave early and don't get home until late. But i've decided I really need to start getting back into making artwork regardless of whether it's a simple sketch or a full digital illustration. So I'm going to try and start a monthly post where I showcase my months piece of artwork.

Get healthier

I'm slowly trying to become healthier because i've let myself go lately and i'm not happy with my figure anymore. I noticed how much rubbish i've been eating recently and it's so bad and the more I eat bad (but tasty food) the more it's starting to make me feel sick. So the aim is to slowly cut out bad things from my diet like reducing the amount of bread/pasta/rice I eat as well as avoiding takeaways unless it's a treat once in a while. Then as time goes on i'm hoping to replace most processed food with fresh natural food which I know will make me feel better and healthier. You know the old saying, you are what you eat :)

Go to the gym more

I know this normally appears on most peoples goals but I really want to make this happen. I went through a faze a few months ago where I was going to the gym 3 times a week and I felt so good for it. And then I had an accident and I tore the ligaments in my ankle which put more out of the gym for at least two months and that just broke the habit. But i'm going to push myself to get back into the gym, even if it's only once a week it's still good and I know I will feel better for it.

Take my driving test

I've never had any reason to take my driving test and I guess in a way I still don't. I travel into work on public transport, I don't need to travel far to family and at the moment my friends are at uni so if I visit them on a Friday after work it makes more sense to go by train. But I thought I may as well try and pass and get it over and done with and then it's done incase I need it in the future.

Have you set any 2015 goals? What are you hoping to achieve in 2015?
Let me know in the comment box below, i'd love to hear from you!

  1. Some lovely goals for 2015. I want to try and get to the gym more, as well as past my driving test. All hopefully achievable x

    1. Yeah it's difficult this time of year I think, I feel more tired because it gets dark earlier so I feel like I have less energy to go to the gym.

But it's definitely achievable, just the case of getting into a habit :)

      Danielle x
